TUNIS, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Described as a "dangerous terrorist", Bourhan Boulaabi was captured alive, on Saturday evening by a Tunisian army unit in the heights of Kasserine province in Tunisia, announced the Tunisian Ministry of Defense.
The captured religious extremist was shot in an ambush by a military unit, in the heights of "Salloum" mountain in Kasserine.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Bourhane Boulaabi is one of the leaders of "Jund Al-khilafa" (Soldiers of the Caliphate), an extremist armed group very active in Algeria.
Boulaabi was in the company of other jihadists who were still on the run and hunted by military units in the "Salloum" mountain.
