ISLAMABAD, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least three policemen were killed and several others injured when a bomb went off near a police vehicle in Quetta, captial of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Tuesday evening, local media reported.

The incident happened about 300 meters away from the provincial assembly building of Balochistan, and the targeted policemen were deployed at the security of the assembly, Dunya News reported.

Those injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals where a state of emergency has been imposed.

Police said that the injured people include policemen and civilians, and the nature of the blast has not been determined yet.

No group or person has claimed the attack yet.
