Egypt engages in partial cabinet reshuffle

CAIRO, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Inas abdel-Dayem was appointed the Egyptian new minister of culture as part of a limited cabinet reshuffle including four new ministers on Sunday.

The reshuffle included the appointment of ministers for local development, tourism, culture and public enterprise.

Abdel-Dayem, 58-year-old flute player and chairperson of Cairo Opera House, replaced Helmy El-Namnam, as a culture minister.

She was graduated from the flute department of the Cairo Conservatory in 1984, and earned her PhD from the Ecole Normal de Musique in Paris in 1990.
