6.5-magnitude quake hits 69km NE of Loreto, Mexico -- USGS

NEW YORK, JAN. 19 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted 69km NE of Loreto, Mexico at 16:17:46 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 16.0 km, was initially determined to be at 26.506 degrees north latitude and 110.921 degrees west longitude.
