THE HAGUE, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Dutch league leaders PSV and number two Ajax both clinched a victory in the 23rd match round of the Eredivisie.

Ajax had a good start against FC Twente on Sunday in Amsterdam with Justin Kluivert setting up and finishing a counter attack. The home team failed to extend the lead and Twente substitute Adnane Tighadouini equalized after a mistake by Joel Veltman. Lasse Schone handed Ajax the win by converting a penalty in the 71st minute.

On Saturday PSV booked their 7th consecutive win at Sparta Rotterdam 2-1, but it was not an easy one. The home team came in front with an early header by Kenneth Dougall.

Five minutes from halftime Steven Bergwijn equalized with a curled shot. PSV started the second half without injured top scorer Hirving Lozano, but Bergwijn secured the victory with another fine shot and his second goal.

Also on Saturday AZ had difficulties with VVV-Venlo in Alkmaar. The home team was not able to break the defense of the visitors and the match ended 0-0.

PSV now lead the Dutch table with 61 points after 23 matches, followed by Ajax on 54 points. AZ are third with a total of 47 points.
