PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The biathlon women's individual competition scheduled for Wednesday February 14 has been postponed, local organizing committee announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The new timing will be February 15, at 17:15 for the women, and 20:20 for the men.

Laura Dahlmeier of Germany is hoping to complete a rare hat-trick in biathlon after winning the first two women's events in PyeongChang, the sprint and the pursuit.

She could become the fourth biathlete to win three gold medals at a single Winter Games, after Ole Einar Bjoerndalen (Norway, four in 2002), Darya Domracheva (Belarus, three in 2014) and Michael Greis (Germany, three in 2006).

Dahlmeier could join Bjoerndalen as the only biathletes to win Olympic gold in the sprint, pursuit and individual event.

Chinese women's biathletes Tang Jialin and Zhang Yan will also compete in the event.
