PARIS, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- A majority of French citizens disapproved French President Emmanuel Macron's foreign policy actions, erasing gains in approval ratings he reported at the end of last year, a poll showed on Wednesday.

An Ipsos survey found that Macron had a 35 percent approval rating, down 5 points from a month earlier.

"Macron's popularity has dropped significantly this month... a trend that can notably be blamed on a stronger opposition on the right and on the left," the pollster said.

It added that at the same period in 2013, the former socialist Francois Hollande had 36 percent of favorable opinions.

On May 7, 2017, Macron won 65.9 of the vote, defeating far-right candidate Marine Le Pen.
