TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- A French delegation from ATR, a Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer, travelled to southwestern Iran to examine causes of an ATR plane crash in Mount Dena, Tasnim news agency reported Saturday.
The French delegation, which arrived in Iran on Thursday, visited the plane crash zone in Mount Dena in accordance to the provisions of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, Mansour Shisheforoush, the head of the Crisis Management Department of Isfahan Province, told Tasnim.
The French experts also plan to give a training course to Iranian rescue teams on how to move the parts of the crashed plane, Shisheforoush said.
The black box of the plane has not been found, he said, adding that Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) will make it public as soon as it is found.
On Friday, the CAO banned flights of all its ATR 72 aircraft following the air crash which claimed the lives of 66 people.
"To examine the safety and improvement of ATR 72 aircraft, it is necessary to stop their operation temporarily," the organization said in a statement.
An ATR 72 aircraft belonging to Iran Aseman Airlines crashed in a foggy and mountainous region of southwestern Iran on Sunday morning, killing all 66 on board.
Affected by the extreme weather conditions, rescue services still can't clear the bodies and the wreckage from the crash site on the 4,000-meter height of Dena Mountain.
