SINGAPORE, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend down 0.16 percent or 5.59 points to close at 3,512.14.
A total of 1.80 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.61 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.31 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 248 to 184.
The STI index closed down 0.61 percent or 21.68 points to close at 3517.73 on Thursday.
