Dollar stayed in lower 107 yen amid reports of U.S. official's visit to DPRK

TOKYO, April 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed firm in the lower 107 yen zone Wednesday in Tokyo with traders' risk appetite boosted amid reports about a top U.S. official's visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at107.30-31 yen compared with 106.95-107.05 yen in New York and 106.99-107.00 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Tuesday. It moved between 107.01 yen and 107.39 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2364-2365 dollars and 132.67-71 yen against 1.2365-2375 dollars and 132.31-41 yen in New York and 1.2402-2403 dollars and 132.69-73 yen in Tokyo late Tuesday afternoon.
