10 years of reconstruction after earthquake in China's Shaanxi

CHINA-SHAANXI-POST EARTHQUAKE-RECONSTRUCTION (CN)

Aerial photo taken on April 24, 2018 shows the Qingmuchuan ancient town in Ningqiang County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province. Qingmuchuan scenic spot received about 1.62 million visitors in 2017. Ningqiang County was hit by a devastating earthquake which centered in Wenchuan County in southwestern China's Sichuan Province on May 12, 2008. After ten years of reconstruction, living conditions has been improved and the economy has rebounded strongly. About 113 resettlement sites were built and about 23,000 families moved into new houses. Some 66 schools were reconstructed and about 268 new village clinics were built. (Xinhua/Tao Ming)
