TEHRAN, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Iran coach Carlos Queiroz will leave after the team's matches in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, Tehran Times daily reported on Friday.

Iran has offered Queiroz an extension of contract by the end of Asian Cup finals in the United Arab Emirates in January 2019.

However, he said that an offer of only six months extension is not what he expected and it is not "an appreciation or recognition for what I've done" for Iran's soccer.

"It's an offer that isn't acceptable from my point of view," he was quoted as saying.

Queiroz has been in charge of the Iranian national soccer team since April 2011.
