JIANGMEN, China, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Brazil secured its second victory in Jiangmen by defeating Russia in women's fourth-round action at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL) here on Thursday.

Brazil, ranked fourth in the world, finished the game in 5 sets (15-25, 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 17-15). Wing spiker Tandara Caixeta got a game-high 30 points, along with their two middle blockers Ana Beatriz Correa and Adenizia Da Silva, who contributed 15 blocks together.

Russia managed a more balanced sheet with five players in double-figure scoring: opposite spiker Natalia Malykh pocketed 17 points, middle blocker Ekaterina Efimova added 15 points, wing spikers Irina Voronkova and Kseniia Parubets delivered 14 points each and middle blocker Kseniia Parubets got 11 points.

"I am pleased with the victory. Russia served well in this game, my players were uncomfortable with Russia's performance," said Brazil's head coach Guimaraes.

Although Russia has won none of its three games in Jiangmen, coach Pankov Vadim is still satisfied with players' perfomance, "We played well, but Brazil is a top team. They seized their chances in the key moments."

"People in Jiangmen are hospitable. It's a beautiful city, I think it's a good place for fishing," added Vadim.
