Chinese shares close lower at midday

BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.59 percent to end at 2,890.66 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.18 percent to end at 9,397.94 points.
