GAZA, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Israel launched missiles Tuesday at Palestinians launching flaming kites and balloons from eastern Gaza Strip into Israel, but no injuries were reported, local media reported.

Local radio stations said that Israeli army drones fired several missiles at a motorbike and two groups of young Palestinian men in eastern Gaza not far from the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.

The reports said that the airstrikes caused severe damages to the motorbike and another empty vehicle parking in the area. No injuries were reported in the three airstrikes.

An Israeli army spokesman said in an official statement that Israeli aircraft targeted a vehicle used for carrying kites and balloons used by young Palestinians to launch attacks at targets inside Israel.

Since March 30, when the Palestinians in Gaza started a massive rally called the Great March of Return, Palestinian young men have released hundreds of flaming kites and balloons that set off huge fires in Israel.

Ashraf al-Qedra, the Gaza Health Ministry spokesman earlier told reporters that a total of 132 Palestinians have been killed and over 14,000 others injured by Israel during the violent clashes since March 30, around half of whom were shot by live ammunition.
