DOHA, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Qatar has reiterated that the ongoing Gulf crisis, imposed on Doha by its Gulf neighbors, embodies irresponsible policies, state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Tuesday.

The remarks were made by Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations (UN) Ambassador Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani before attending the formal meeting of the UN Security Council.

The Qatari envoy said that the blockading countries do not take into count the preservation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s system, adding the continuation of the current crisis will threaten the security and stability of the Mideast region, QNA reported.

She reiterated that Qatar is renewing its call for dialogue between all parties to resolve the Gulf dispute, hailing the mediation efforts led by Kuwait.

She also warned of the danger of the use of cyberspace to threaten the security and sovereignty of states, which was one of the major reasons that caused the eruption of the Gulf crisis.

On June 5 last year, four countries in the Gulf Region -- Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt -- cut diplomatic and economic relations with Qatar.

The four Arab countries accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region.

However, Doha has rejected the accusations, calling them "unjustified" and "baseless."
