BERLIN, Jul 13 (Xinhua) -- Borussia Monchengladbach have completed the transfer of striker Alassane Plea from France outfit Nice, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Friday.

The "Foals" strengthen their offense with the signing of Alassane Plea, who has penned a five-year deal to stay with Monchengladbach until summer 2023.

"We are very happy that this transfer worked out and we were able to prevail against European top-flight clubs. Alassane wanted to join Monchengladbach," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said.

The 25-year-old striker played since 2014 for Nice where he scored 36 goals in 111 appearances. Plea wore France's national team jersey after playing for several youth teams.

"He is a versatile, fast and intelligent striker, who has proven his qualities in the Ligue 1 and UEFA Europa League," Eberl added.

Monchengladbach completed the Bundesliga season 2017-2018 on the 9th place.
