NEW YORK, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Consinee, a major Chinese spinner and exporter of cashmere yarn, debuted its runway show in New York City on Wednesday to demonstrate its full range of yarn technology.

The show, the first of its kind to be offered by a Chinese textile company in the United States, is titled "Into the Lines," alluding to the conceptual interpretation of cashmere yarn.

It featured 99 pieces of clothes that uses more than 100 products of Consinee, showcasing the brand's state-of-the-art weaving techniques and high quality of the yarn.

"Rather than presenting a conventional knitwear collection, the 'Into the Lines' show contemplates and explores the luxury of cashmere and its sundry potentials activated through a synthesis with new disciplines," said Chinese-German designer Yujia Zhai-Petrow, who is the director of the show.

Xue Jingli, CEO of Consinee Group, said he hoped the show can demonstrate Consinee's dedication to excellence and inspire the company's clients with new possibilities.

Founded in 1999 in Ningbo city of east China's Zhejiang Province, the group now produces 10,000 tons of yarn a year, which is enough to produce 30 million pieces of clothes.

The company generates about 400 million U.S. dollars of revenue every year, 80 percent to 90 percent of which comes from overseas markets, said Xue.

U.S. businesses account for 35 percent while the European market accounts for about 10 percent of Consinee's total revenue, he added.
