Russia wins two golds on 2nd day of junior artistic swimming worlds

BUDAPEST, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Russia dominated the second day of the 16th FINA World Junior Artistic Swimming Championships here on Thursday, lifting titles in women's duet technical and duet free.

The women duet technical event's final was held first in the afternoon. Russia triumphed with a beautiful tour de force of Elizaveta Minaeva and Kseniia Ladnaia earning 91.6280 points.

They were followed by Ukrainian duo of sisters Vladyslava and Maryna Aleksiiva who scored 89.9301 and Chinese sisters of Liu Jintong and Liu Jinhan with 87.5172 points.

In the evening, the women duet free event's final also saw a gold for the Russians and a silver for the Ukrainians. Russia's duo was victorious with a powerful show of Elizaveta Minaeva and Kseniia Ladnaia with 93.1000 points. Ukrainian sisters Vladyslava and Maryna Aleksiiva scored 91.0333 points for the silver medal. Japanese duo of Ami Wada and Mana Fujiwara took the bronze medal with 89.1333 points.
