WUXI, China, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 World Fencing Championships finished on Friday, with China bagging a women's team epee bronze at the nine-day event.

In the quarterfinals, Chinese women's sabre team lost to France 42-45, while the men's foil team was defeated 19-45 by the United States.

Italy won the men's foil title and France claimed the women's team sabre gold.

Overall, China won a bronze medal at women's team epee. The top three on the medal table are Italy, South Korea and the United States. China ranked 11th.

The championships ended on Friday at the Wuxi New Sports Center Gymnasium, fencers from 109 countries and regions vied for 12 titles in foil, epee and sabre.
