RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian side Internacional on Sunday confirmed the signing of Peru striker Paolo Guerrero on a three-year deal.

The 34-year-old, whose contract with Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo expired last week, will reportedly earn 160,000 euros a month including add-ons with the Porto Alegre club.

"I'm anxious to join the team and happy to belong to a club like Inter," Guerrero said in a video published on Internacional's website. "I chose Inter because it is one of the biggest clubs in Brazil with a lot of history. It's a big challenge for me."

Guerrero scored 43 goals in 112 matches for Flamengo after his 2015 move from Corinthians.

The former Bayern Munich forward featured in all of Peru's three World Cup group matches in Russia this summer, scoring in their 2-0 victory over Australia on June 26.

He was cleared to play in the tournament after a Swiss court lifted a doping ban. Guerrero was suspended in December last year after testing positive for a cocaine metabolite.

He claimed that he unwittingly consumed the substance in contaminated tea and that it did not enhance his sporting performance.
