LONDON, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Premier League champions Manchester City have recalled 19-year-old Swiss goalkeeper Aro Muric back from a loan spell at Dutch side NEC Breda to provide cover for long term injury victim, Claudio Bravo.

Bravo ruptured his left Achilles tendon on Tuesday and will almost certainly be out of action for the rest of the season, leaving Pep Guardiola's side with only 20-year-old Daniel Grimshaw as cover for their first choice keeper Ederson.

Muric had only join NEC Breda three weeks ago, but Bravo's injury leaves City desperately short of cover after the sold of former England international Joe Hart to Burnley and Angus Gunn to Southampton over the summer.

The fact the transfer window closed in England before the new season started meant that City had limited options in replacing Bravo, given that they are unable to make any permanent signings and only able to either recall players on loan at other clubs or solicit an emergency loan from another Premier League club.

Muric, who joined the Premier League champions from Grasshoppers in 2015 has never played in the City first team, but has played in their Under-23 side.
