China make it to top 8 in women's basketball at 2018 Asiad

JAKARTA, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese women's basketball team crushed Hong Kong 123-31 in the last match of 2018 Asian Games preliminary round here on Thursday, advancing to last eight as top of the Group B.

China dominated this one-sided match as they took a double-digit lead after first five minutes, Hong Kong had no chance to cut the deficit, only scored nine points in the last two quarters.

Han Xu, who bagged a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds, said after the match:"We have improved a lot. Our goal in preliminary round was to make better preparations to meet later competitive rivals, like Japan and the Unified Korea team."
