BEIRUT, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri vowed not to give up on the position of Prime Minister, a local private TV reported Monday.

"Hariri is only concerned with the stances that come directly from President Michel Aoun," the sources close to Hariri told LBCI.

Earlier in the day, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said he is waiting for Hariri to present him with a cabinet lineup.

"Political and sectarian diversity creates problems when it comes to government formation. We listen to the demands of political parties and we aim to reach an agreement that would result in cabinet formation," Aoun said.

Hariri's duty is to form the cabinet, and should take the initiative and "go ahead with the formation," he added.

Hariri is facing various hurdles in his attempt to form a 30-member national unity government, caused by the rifts among rival politicians over the representation of the main Christian parties, as well as the Druze sect and the question of Sunni representation from outside Hariri's Future Movement.

Meanwhile, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri have on many occasions called for legislative sessions which are constitutionally guaranteed even in the absence of a government.

However, sources close to the Future Movement described Berri's call as increased pressure on Hariri to give up his premiership.
