Spain's Ortega wins men's 110m hurdles at ISTAF

BERLIN, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Orlando Ortega sprinted to the victory in the 110 meters hurdles competition with 13.15 seconds at the 77th edition of the International Stadium Festival (ISTAF) in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Sunday.

The Spaniard staged a dominant performance and took the lead early before clocking 13.15 seconds in the finish.

"Silver at the European Championships, gold at the ISTAF, that is amazing. I am so happy for coming back here. This stadium is impressive. This race today was perfect, the crowd carried me over the finish line. I love Berlin, I love this track," Ortega said.

USA's Freddie Crittenden ran on the second place with 13.31 seconds followed by European champion Pascal Martinot-Lagarde with 13.38 seconds.

The ISTAF in Berlin's Olympic Stadium is the biggest athletics meeting in the world and attracts annually 50.000 spectators as approximately 180 athletes from 40 countries and regions compete in 15 disciplines.
