ANKARA, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Turkish presidential spokesman said on Tuesday that a possible attack on Syria's Idlib province "will undermine the ongoing political process and cause a serious crisis of confidence."
Turkey expected all parties to make constructive contributions and agree on a political solution on Syria, Ibrahim Kalin said after a cabinet meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Kalin urged western countries including the U.S. to work together to stop a possible attack on Idlib.
During a news conference in Bucharest, Romania earlier on Tuesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called on international allies to find a "peaceful solution" and to prevent civilian casualties in Syria's Idlib.
The Syrian government recently announced plans to launch a major military offensive in Syria's northwestern province of Idlib.
Turkey warned of a "bloodbath" and a new large-scale influx of refugees fleeing as an assault on Idlib, which is home to more than 3 million Syrians.
