SINGAPORE, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.47 percent or 14.74 points to close at 3,124.65.
A total of 1.86 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.01 billion Singapore dollars (about 733.7 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 208 to 173.
The STI index went down 0.35 percent or 11.01 points to close at 3,109.91 Tuesday.
