Shanghai Greenland tie Jiangsu Suning 1-1 in CSL

SHANGHAI, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Greenland tied Jiangsu Suning 1-1 in the 22nd round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday.

The first half was almost scoreless until Alex Teixeira Santos broke the deadlock for Jiangsu Suning in the injury time. Eder Martins won the ball back in Shanghai Greenland's half and passed the it into the box and Teixeira headed the ball into net.

Shanghai Greenland equalized the score in the 50th minute as Freddy Guarin passed the ball from the bottom line to Demba Ba, who tapped in the equalizer.

Jiangsu Suning was still three-point behind the fourth-placed Shandong Luneng, both of whom still need to fight for the AFC Champions League spot.

Also on Saturday, Changchun Yatai gained the first victory in the last four rounds after beating the visiting Guizhou Hengfeng 3-0.

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo provoked a penalty in the 34th minute and opened the scoring for Changchun Yatai. Less than 10 minutes later, Ighalo chested down the ball and scored a 40-meter-long shot, but players from Guizhou Hengfeng complained to the referee about Ighalo's handball. After checking with VAR (Video Assistance Referee), the referee disallowed the goal.

Nemanja Pejcinovic helped Changchun Yatai enlarge the lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute in a corner attack. Guizhou Hengfeng were reduced to ten men two minutes later as Han Pengfei got his second yellow card.

Adrian Mierzejewski scored with a well-struck free-kick at the edge of the box in the 82nd minute and seized the win of 3-0.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Chongqing Lifan beat Henan Jianye 1-0.
