BERLIN, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Hertha Berlin moved 4-2 past Borussia Monchengladbach while Christian Pulisic's late goal helped Borussia Dortmund to snatch one point from Hoffenheim at the 4th round in Bundesliga on Saturday.

Both sides started offensively minded and ensured a lively opening period as Monchengladbach's Thorgan Hazard missed the target just wide before Berlin's Ondrej Duda squandered a promising chance from very close range.

As the match progressed, Hertha assumed control but still it were the visitors who opened the scoring after Thorgan Hazard hammered home a foul play penalty in the 29th minute.

The hosts regrouped and responded well only as Vedad Ibisevic made the most of Marwin Plattenhardt's pinpoint cross to restore parity in the 31st minute.

Pal Dardai's men gained momentum and turned the tides three minutes later when Valentino Lazaro nodded in Javairo Dilrosun's chip to the near post to make it 2-1 on the scoreboards.

After the restart, Hertha started where they left off as Ibisevic wrapped up his brace in the 63rd minute after tapping home Salomon Kalou's delivery to the far post from very close range.

Monchengladbach recovered from the host's comeback as Allassane Plea's header reduced the arrears to 3-2 out of the blue in the 67th minute. However, Berlin made the game safe six minutes later when Ondrej Duda made it 4-2 to seal the third win of the season.

For now, Hertha Berlin sit atop the standings whereas Monchengladbach slumped to the 7th position

Hoffenheim wasted their chance to grab three points as ten-men Borussia Dortmund secured a late 1-1 draw.

The "TSG" staged a dominant performance against uninspired Dortmund, who were only able to hold the pace in the opening stages.

Nevertheless, Hoffenheim left a number of chances unused and had to wait until the 44th minute before Joelinton broke the deadlock with a low shot from inside the box.

Julian Nagelsmann's men remained in control of the proceedings after the break and they continued to miss chances, as Andrej Kramaric pulled wide from promising position.

Meanwhile, things went from bad to worse for the hosts as Abdou Diallo received his marching orders for tugging Kramaric as the last man in the 76th minute.

Despite a numerical disadvantage Dortmund punished wasteful Hoffenheim with the equalizer late in the game after Christian Pulisic poked home Marco Reus' square pass in the 84th minute.

Hoffenheim remained wasteful as Ishak Belfodil missed the empty goal from sharp angle in the dying minutes of the game.

With the draw, Dortmund slipped to the 3rd place while Hoffenheim climbed on the 10th position.

Elsewhere, newly promoted Nuremberg edged ten-men Hannover on the second-half goals from Waldemar Anton and Toerles Knoell.

Freiburg secured a 3-1 victory and inflicted Wolfsburg their first loss of the season while Werder Bremen overcame Augsburg 3-2 on the road.
