MONTEVIDEO, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Uncapped RB Leipzig's left-back Marcelo Saracchi has been named in Uruguay's squad for friendlies against South Korea and Japan, the Uruguay Football Association (AUF) said on Saturday.

Coach Oscar Tabarez also recalled River Plate's midfielder Camilo Mayada and Santos Laguna's forward Jonathan Rodriguez for the October matches. Neither player has represented the national team since 2015.

As expected, the 25-man squad includes Barcelona's Luis Suarez, his strike partner at Paris Saint-Germain Edinson Cavani, Juventus' midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur and Atletico Madrid's center-backs Diego Godin and Jose Maria Gimenez.

Players from Uruguay's domestic competitions could be added to the squad at a later date, the AUF said.

The two-time World Cup champions will face South Korea in Seoul on October 12 and Japan in Saitama four days later.

Saturday's squad announcement came a day after Tabarez, who has led Uruguay in a record four World Cups, signed a new four year-contract that expires after his 76th birthday.
