ASUNCION, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Juan Carlos Osorio refused to rule out the possibility of taking charge of his native Colombia on Tuesday, less than a month after being appointed Paraguay's coach.

At a press conference in which he named a 27-man squad that will train but not play any matches during FIFA's international friendly break in October, Osorio described the Cafeteros coaching job as a "life-long dream".

"I deeply and genuinely value what Paraguayan football is and it's no coincidence that I'm here," the 57-year-old said. "But I cannot deny that as a Colombian the dream and the objective, not only now but all of my life, has been to one day coach Colombia."

"But I am here now and I'll be giving 100 percent," he added.

Osorio this month agreed to coach Paraguay until the 2022 World Cup, should the South American team qualify. The announcement came just weeks after he parted ways with Mexico following their round of 16 exit at the World Cup in Russia.

Colombia are seeking a replacement for Argentine Jose Pekerman, who resigned this month following a six-and-a-half year spell in charge.
