SINGAPORE, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Some 14 residents involving in a riot at the Singapore Boys' Home were arrested by police Friday evening, local media reported.
The police received a call for assistance at around 6 o'clock in the evening, and arrived at the scene to capture 14 residents. Two male staff of the home who suffered minor injuries were sent to hospital, reported the English-language newspaper The Strait Times on its website.
The police is still investigating the incident.
The Straits Times also reported heavy police presence outside the boys' home in Jurong in western Singapore, with more than 15 police vehicles and 10 police bikes.
In September 2016, 26 youths from the home staged a six-hour standoff with the police after a failed escape attempt.
Run by Singapore's Ministry of Social and Family Development, the Singapore Boys' Home is a juvenile detention home for young people aged between 12 and 21. There is also the Singapore Girls Home.
