SINGAPORE, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.67 percent or 21.8 points to close at 3,209.79.
A total of 1.55 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 936.3 million Singapore dollars (about 677.31 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 243 to 125.
The STI index went down 1.1 percent or 35.81 points to close at 3,231.59 on Thursday.
