SINGAPORE, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went up 0.76 percent or 24.75 points to close at 3267.4.
A total of 1.55 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 906.6 million Singapore dollars (about 659.25 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 229 to 155.
The STI index went down 0.39 percent or 12.81 points to close at 3242.65 on Tuesday.
