MANAMA, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain's foreign minister said Friday that the target of missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's case is Saudi Arabia, Al Arabiya reported.

Bahrain's Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed al-Khalifa said on his official Twitter account that the target is Saudi Arabia, not the search for any truth. "Throw your masks away for we are with her (Saudi Arabia) with our souls," the minister wrote.

Some other ministers also voiced their support for Saudi Arabia. UAE's Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the country always stands with Saudi Arabia. UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said there is a "fierce campaign against Riyadh," as well as a coordination between inciting parties.

Jamal Khashoggi, a journalist and columnist for The Washington Post, has been missing since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 to get documents for his marriage.

Unconfirmed reports said that Khashoggi was likely killed inside the compound, which was dismissed by Saudi authorities as "baseless." Turkey and Saudi Arabia agreed to set up a joint team to investigate the disappearance of Khashoggi in all its aspects.
