Feng Gong elected chairman of China Literary and Art Volunteers' Association

BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Feng Gong, a renowned comedian, was elected as the new chairman of the China Literary and Art Volunteers' Association (CLAVA) by the second National Congress of CLAVA, which concluded on Friday.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Feng said over the next five years, CLAVA would push its brand projects forward, strengthen the building of literary and art volunteers' organizations and improve its volunteer services mechanisms.

"CLAVA will work to institutionalize its volunteer services by writers and artists so as to promote their healthy development," Feng said.

The congress, held in Beijing on Thursday and Friday, deliberated and approved a work report, revised the charter of the association and elected new leadership.
