SHANGHAI, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Municipal Tourism Administration of Shanghai said Friday that accommodation in the city, as well as neighboring provinces, is ready to receive guests for the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The administration said that nearly 300,000 rooms in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces have been included in a recommendation list for reference.

In Shanghai, more than 1,700 hotels are listed, which are able to provide more than 250,000 rooms and 410,000 beds.

These hotels in the city are recommended based on the distance between the hotels and the expo venue, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), ranging from only several hundred meters to over 50 km.

Shanghai has also required the control of hotel room prices from October 26 to November 14, mandating that they should not exceed the highest prices from October to November last year.

Shanghai is gearing up to accommodate over 300,000 visitors during the expo.

Meanwhile, Shanghai's tourism industry is also preparing for domestic and foreign visitors. Around 70,000 tourism industry practitioners have received various kinds of training.

Taxis, tour buses or any vehicle for tourists have been asked to clearly mark their prices and improve their services.
