Argentina earns shot at tennis doubles gold at Buenos Aires 2018

BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's Facundo Diaz Acosta and Sebastian Baez secured a place in the boys' tennis doubles final at the Youth Olympics by beating Czech pair Ondrej Styler and Dalibor Svrcina on Friday.

Diaz Acosta and Baez prevailed 7-5, 1-6, (10-6), in one hour and 12 minutes at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.

The Argentine duo will play Bulgaria's Adrian Andreev and Australia's Rinky Hijikata in the final on Sunday. Andreev and Hijikata advanced by overcoming France's Hugo Gaston and Clement Tabur 6-1, 6-4 in the other semifinal.

Meanwhile France's Clara Burel and Slovenia's Kaja Juvan advanced to the girls' singles final after winning their respective semifinals on Friday.

Burel beat Colombia's Maria Osorio 6-4, 7-5 while Juvan defeated Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva 1-6, 7-5, 6-3.
