TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Top Iranian commander said that Israel and Saudi Arabia are responsible for "their crimes in Palestine and Yemen," Tasnim news agency reported on Saturday.

Tel Aviv and Riyadh are "committing crimes on a large scale by attacking hospitals and medical centers," Hossein Baqeri, the chairman of the chiefs of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, was quoted as saying.

Baqeri made the remarks at the 4th ICMM Pan-Asia Pacific Congress on Military Medicine underway in Iran's capital Tehran.

He expressed hope that the ongoing congress would uphold collective actions against such crimes.

This year's event focuses on the theme of "The Future Horizon of Military Medicine", emphasizing the common goals of promoting medical-military scientific activities, and strengthening the bonds between medical services of member states.

The congress, attended by military commanders and delegations from 45 countries, kicked off on Friday and will wrap up on Monday.

On Friday, Iran took the rotating presidency of the biennial conference.
