KIGALI, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Guinea held Rwanda's national team "Amavubi" to a 1-1 draw in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers return leg match played on Tuesday at the Nyamirambo Regional stadium in the Rwandan capital Kigali. Amavubi lost 2-0 away to Guinea last Friday.

Despite the draw, Guinea still maintain their lead in Group H with ten points after four matches played, while Rwanda trails the group with one point.

Rwanda saw more of the ball early on in the first half, but struggled to break down the Guinea defense. Jose Kante Martinez, the Guinean international striker who plays for the Polish club Legia Warsaw, scored for his team in the 32nd minute before Rwandan striker Jacques Tuyisenge, who plays for Kenya's Gor Mahia, equalized in the 79th minute.

Head coach of Rwanda, Vincent Mashami, said the result gave the team hope that they still have a chance to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The group winner and the first runner-up will qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Rwanda's Amavubi will host third placed Central Africa Republic next month before finishing up their group matches away to Cote d'Ivoire in March 2019.
