Ansai waist drum maker Wang Yongjun plays the traditional suona horn in Fengjiaying Village of Ansai District in Yan'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Oct. 19, 2018. Wang is also renowned locally as a suona player. Ansai is famous for waist drum performance, but only a few pepople master the techniques of Ansai waist drum making. Over his 30 years' career as a drum maker, Wang Yongjun insists on using the traditional techniques.Through dozens of processes on the drum shell and drumhead, he makes sure that every drum he made is of good quality. Wang makes and sells over 2,000 drums every year, and has his son learning drum making from him, hoping that the techniques pass down to the next generation. (Xinhua/Liu Xiao)
