GAZA, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Hamas movement's Chief Ismail Haniyeh and a number of Hamas officials met Monday with a high-profile Egyptian delegation in Gaza.

The delegation is headed by Ahmed Abdulkhaleq, who is in charge of Palestinian affairs files in the Egyptian Security Intelligence.

The delegation arrived in the Gaza Strip Monday afternoon and held a meeting with Hamas to continue their discussions on a possible truce with Israel and a reconciliation with Fatah Party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Hamas discussed with the senior delegation several issues, above all the cease-fire agreement with Israel and the Palestinian reconciliation.

It is the second meeting in less than a week. Hamas hailed the Egyptian endeavors to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza and thanked Egypt for placing the plight of Gaza as a priority in their agenda.
