JERUSALEM, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) said on Monday that it had won a 550-million-U.S.-dollar contract to provide its advanced Sky Capture air defense system to an unnamed Asian country.
Sky Capture is an advanced anti-aircraft command and control system, which provides accurate target data for interceptors and manages threats and firing detection, said a company statement.
The system is based on multiple sensors, including advanced fire control and detection radars.
"Our proposal and development were based on the future generation of very short-range air defense systems," said Boaz Levi, IAI's executive vice president and general manager of Systems, Missiles and Space Group, in the statement.
"The system sold under this contract uses air defense cannons and is also designed, if needed, to manage short-range missiles and laser interception systems," he added.
