KUNMING, China, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's Myagmarsuren Baasankhuu and Zhou Qiuying of China sprinted to victory in the men's and women's categories respectively in stage 4 of the Colorful Yunnan International Granfondo Cycling Festival in Tengchong, Yunnan Province on Wednesday.

It was the second stage win for Baasankhuu in the event and the first for Zhou.

Passing along Gaoligong Mountain, the fourth stage covers 185 kilometers, and it is the toughest stage of the week. Despite the picturesque hill views, the weather was foggy and cold.

After a long stage with multiple climbs, Baasankhuu emerged the winner in 5:13:38.

"There were so many climbs, this was maybe the most difficult race. On the first 50km, my bike had problems. I had no choice, and I just tried my best," Baasankhuu said.

"I am so tired today, I have run out of energy. It was so crazy today!" He added.

In the women's race, Zhou finished in 6:05.31 to claim the yellow jersey. The Netherlands' Annemiek Irene Stegehuis, who had won the previous three stages, had to be content with third place this time around.

The Yunnan Granfondo has been held every year since 2014. This year's competition covers more than 600 kilometers from Mangshi to Lijiang, including six stages. Nearly 1,500 cyclists from 26 countries and regions are taking part in the competition.
