TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Kish Island in the Gulf will host an international marine exhibition on Dec. 17-19, Tehran Times daily reported on Tuesday.

The 20th International Maritime and Offshore Technologies Exhibition (IRANIMEX 2018) aims to gather maritime organizations and companies together and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their products and present their capabilities, Ali-Akbar Marzban, chairman of the exhibition headquarters, said on Tuesday.

The event will also provide a platform for the domestic companies to find appropriate foreign partners to cooperate with, Marzban was quoted as saying.

"Our main policy is to hold a unique and integrated exhibition with the highest level of quality," he said, adding that "it is very important the exhibition can provide the ground for the attraction of foreign investment in maritime sector."

Specialized workshops and meetings are also planned to be held on the sidelines of the exhibition, he pointed out.

The Iranian official said that 18 companies from Germany, the Netherlands, France, Greece, Oman, China along with 230 Iranian companies will showcase their latest products and achievements in the event.
