Head coach Hecking pens extension at Monchengladbach

BERLIN, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Coach Dieter Hecking has penned a one-year contract extension ahead of schedule, the "Foals" confirmed in an official statement on Friday.

Hecking and his assistants Dirk Bremser and Frank Geideck will stay with Borussia Monchengladbach after signing a contract extension until June 2020.

"The current sporting development is a very positive and this is closely connected with Dieter Hecking. We are looking forward to the upcoming challenges with him and his coaching staff," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said.

The 54-year-old coach joined the "Foals" on December 2016 after putting pen to paper on a deal until 2019.

"I have been with Monchengladbach for almost two years and can say that I feel incredibly well here," head coach Dieter Hecking told the club's official homepage.

Monchengladbach sit currently on the 2nd place of the Bundesliga standings. They clash with Hannover at the 12th round on Sunday.
