DUBAI, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday announced the reduction of some of its fees to attract more investment and boost the emirate's economic growth.

The measures were announced as part of the Abu Dhabi government's economic plan, which aims at maintaining the sustainable growth in different fields, the department said in a statement quoted by the official news agency WAM.

Under the new measures, all developers will be exempted from the partnership fees of transport projects that were executed between 2011 to 2018. In addition, all current fees of developers' partnership until 2020 will be on hold.

The new measures will support the local companies for extending their businesses and attracting more investments.

"This step will save up to 1.5 billion dirhams (405 million U.S. dollars) on the developers," the statement said.

The department also reduced the fees of car rental companies by 40 percent for every kilometer.

"This will enhance the companies' capabilities and improve the quality of services offered to the society according to the best practices. It will contribute to supporting the local economy and increase the level of customers' satisfaction," the statement added.
