MAIMANA, Afghanistan, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Afghan government forces in operations against Taliban outfit have killed three militants and injured five others after targeting their hideouts in Qaisar district of northern Faryab province, said a statement of the army released on Sunday.
The operation, according to the statement, was launched in Qaramqul area of Qaisar district on Sunday morning and the government forces, besides inflicting casualties on the militants, have also evicted the insurgents from several villages.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the troubled Faryab province have yet commented.
