BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Four teams from China have been selected in Airbus's Fly Your Ideas global competition, hoping to inspire innovative ideas to the aerospace industry, said Airbus China Wednesday.

Through the Fly Your Ideas global competition, Airbus is looking for ideas from young talents that change the future of aerospace and create a safer, cleaner and better-connected world, said Airbus China.

In the competition, university students around the world were invited to innovate in six key areas -- electrification, data services, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality.

Including four teams from China, a total of 51 teams, involving 179 students representing 47 nationalities from 66 universities worldwide, have been shortlisted for the upcoming second round of competition.

They will receive support from Airbus mentors and aerospace professionals to mature their ideas. Finalists will compete for a share of 45,000 euros and the chance to take their ideas forward in the aerospace industry.

Chinese students have actively participated in this competition with outstanding performances. In 2011, "Wing of Phoenix" from Nanjing Aeronautics and Astronautics University won the top prize, and "DAELead" from the University of Hong Kong placed first in 2017.
