BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Hernan Crespo on Wednesday vowed to adopt an attacking brand of football in his role as coach of Argentine first division side Banfield.

Crespo faced the media for the first time since Banfield vice president Oscar Tucker confirmed his appointment as the club's head coach last week.

"There is no coaching manual for winning, everyone has their own style and way of doing things but I think the best approach is to play good football," the former Argentina international striker said.

"I want an attacking Banfield. The goal is to acquire an identity that will become a registered trademark of the club," he added.

Crespo, whose only previous coaching experience was a spell in charge of Italian Serie D club Modena in 2015-16, replaces Julio Cesar Falcioni, who stepped down earlier this month because of ill health.

Banfield are currently 10th in the 26-team Superliga Argentina standings.
